economic justification

On both the business and the technical levels, Pique Solutions provides an objective assessment of how effectively the customer’s IT infrastructure aligns with the key priorities of the business, and identifies near and longer-term opportunities for strengthening, aligning, and advancing the business by creating value, reducing cost, and improving agility.

Based on in-depth discussions with client’s key stakeholders, Pique conducts Business Value Analysis (BVA) of existing IT infrastructure, including products and services, based on the enterprise stack map. The BVA shows the macro-level investments (current and planned) by category for software, support, and services, and highlights areas of opportunities for cost savings, productivity gains, and business-value creation. It provides quantitative input into the development of a scorecard which identifies gaps between business objectives and capabilities, opportunities for solving critical business challenges by more effectively leveraging existing IT investments, as well as opportunities for standardization, consolidation, redesign, and migration. Pique then develops a customized Business Case focused on business outcome KPI gains (e.g. time to market for new products and services, business process workflow, employee productivity, innovation opportunities, etc.) associated with implementing new technologies, migrating, or redesigning current infrastructure. Last, Pique develops Return on Investment (ROI) and/or Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models that support our recommendations by quantifying the economic and the business and strategic benefits and the initial and ongoing costs.

In addition to the traditional TCO- and ROI-based justification of IT procurement or migration initiatives, Pique Solutions evaluates a broader set of business-value drivers that are of interest to business decision makers, such as the effects of technology procurement or migration on the following:

• Revenue growth overall and from new products
• Time to market for new products and services
• Employee productivity
• Customer and supplier relationships
• Performance and availability of IT solutions
• Business agility
• Innovation opportunity
